PC Games

I've never been as hooked to PC games as I am right now. I play whenever I get the chance to. Some of the games I play alternately are:

  • Bejeweled
  • Bookworm
  • Text Twist
  • Magic Vines
  • The Sims
  • Diner Dash
  • Insaniquarium
  • Charm Solitaire

What games do you play?

Harry Potter

Finally, the long wait is over! It is NOW SHOWING in theatres worldwide. I can't wait to watch it. When we watched the Transformers two weeks ago at Gateway, we learned that tickets to Harry Potter were already being sold! As fickle as we are, we didn't buy tickets yet. It's better to be sure. I hope I'd be able to watch it before the week ends.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Book 7

For months, I've seen ads and promos about the on-going reservations for this book in all major bookstores nationwide, even online. I was not one of those who ordered and shamefully I am telling you now that I have yet to finish Book 3! :D I have a lot of catching up to do. So I guess by now, you understand my drift. =p

Being 30.

I got this from my Vox account. Posted last January 27, 2007 at 3:44 PM.

Rawr. I can’t believe I am t-h-i-r-t-y! Who cares? Everybody! Hahaha! It’s a big deal to everyone like it’s a leprosy or something, I swear. It sometimes stresses me out and makes me wish I were a boy or a lesbo!=p But then again, age is just a number. Tee hee! Life goes on…

30 Things About Me:

1. I am way too complex.

2. I have six dogs but my aunt takes care of them. I’m really not the playful type to dogs. I just love looking at them.

3. I have an OC behavior when it comes to my bed. I always make sure the sheets are neatly straightened and tucked in EVERYTIME.

4. I always have an obsession phase. If I get to like to read now, I’ll read for a week or two; if it’s DVD, I’m glued to the TV. Don’t get me started with shopping…

5. I judge a person by his shoes.

6. I love kids. They love me, too! =S

7. I pray The Lord’s Prayer everytime I pass by a funeral or a wake.

8. I will never be at my goal weight…if I’m with the Dyna-saurs. HAHAHA

9. I would love to have twins someday.

10. I’ve never cooked a real meal. But that doesn’t mean I can’t. :D

11. I hate beer but love cocktails.

12. I keep receipts for a long period of time. I used to have shoeboxes full but threw them away already so now I’m starting again…

13. I’m not fond of chocolates and sweets.

14. I love giving codenames to people.

15. I still write to my diary. I have kept all my diaries since college.

16. If I don’t have my present job, I’d probably be working at Starbucks or at my own coffee shop. I’d love to get my hands on that espresso machine!

17. I wish on railroads while holding something blue. Thanks to my college friends, I can’t get it out of my system!

18. I think that the perfect combination ever discovered is coffee and cigarettes.

19. The bag I bring everyday to work weighs a ton but I’m not complaining, it’s the people around me who do. =p

20. I cannot pack light.

21. Because of Grey’s Anatomy, I seriously considered wearing a scrub suit, to bed, at least.

22. I’m always making all kinds of faces – normal or odd. I’m very expressive like that.

23. I was a huge fan of “Parker Lewis”.

24. I love big watches.

25. I cry easily and it really takes a while to make me stop. Sheesh.

26. As a young girl, I was so afraid of my father I panic just hearing his voice. Now, I’m a daddy’s girl. ;-)

27. I have a younger brother. He is gay. =S

28. I cannot swim.

29. I can stay for hours in the bathroom.

30. I keep track of every single thing a person has done me wrong and I pray profusely for that person to realize it. God is good!

Red Kimono

The first time I ate at Red Kimono was sometime last December and I almost had to crawl over on my way out. No exaggeration. They offer order-all-you-can-eat concept at P485++ meaning they serve the food right to your table. What more can you ask for? If you love Japanese food buffet, this is the place for you.
Last Saturday, I had lunch here with Bexie (again!), Lexie and Ranel. We feasted on all the items we ordered (except for Ranel who until now is in shock!). I can't remember how many times the waiter had to remind us that they are closing at 3pm. It's embarassing I know but we just can't help it. They had to wait. These are some of the items we ordered (including second orders). Hahaha!:
The following day, we realized that we forgot to get the free ice cream. And now I still crave for their california crunch. It's that delicious!

Ysabella and her chicken

I guess almost everyone in the Philippines and TFC subscribers all over the world are familiar with Ysabella, the new soap opera of ABS-CBN starring Judy Ann Santos.

After watching the pilot episode, I craved for chicken inasal . The next day, I found out that my long lost twins also watched the pilot and craved for it, too! And what better way to satisfy our cravings but to eat!

Bexie and I *excitedly* went to Bacolod Chicken Inasal for our chicken inasal fix. We were surprised to see that they now offer Ysabella's chicken as posted above. Nothing fancy, though. I still prefer inasal. Anyhow, we went home happy and we even got a souvenir! Hah!

Last Friday, I had the original chicken inasal from JT's Manukan (owned by Joel Torre) as pictured above. This is better, I must say! It's not so appetizing in the picture but once you've tasted it, it's definitely worth the trip and the wait.

AJ, the Spiderman

Last June 20th, my 12 year old cousin, AJ was rushed to the emergency room of Lourdes Hospital by his teachers. He broke his wristbones and yes, it happened in school. By broke, I mean broke. It wasn't just a fracture. He underwent two major surgeries. He had the first surgery the day after he was confined. We spent 5 days in the hospital and don't get me started with the bills! I would have my very own MacBook by now... but that's a different story. After his first surgery, we were told by his doctor that he must undergo a second surgery for the surgical closing after a week. And so he did.

Apparently, Aj was doing a "Spiderman" stunt over the fourth step of the stairs in their school despite numerous attempts to warn him from doing so by his classmates. And because he IS Spiderman, he jumped! I can just imagine the way he did his stunt. We are all now laughing about it.

I took this photo as I was riding the taxi on my way home.

He now goes to school but goes to his doctor every other day for check up.

Special thanks to Dr. Sanchez for all the help he has given and to all those who prayed for him. We can't thank you enough!

Books, Guilt, & Havaianas

Current shopping obsession phase: BOOKS.

If there's a particular book I'm interested in, I would normally ask Bexie first if they have it then ask her if I can borrow (which takes me months to finish). This time though, I've spent the last few days glued on eBay searching and bidding online. So far, I bought 8 books already.
  • The Historian
  • The Four Agreements
  • Like Water for Chocolate
  • A Painted House
  • Sophie's World
  • Love Story
  • The End of the Affair
  • Summer Sisters

I decided to start buying books again because seeing my Havaianas collection has become an eyesore to me (for now.hehe). I just couldn't bear the guilt that my Havaianas might outnumber the books on my shelves. I hope I'd be able to find the time and the will to read each one of them soon.

Surprisingly, I've been to different Havaianas stores to see the new arrivals and I didn't buy -not even a single pair! That's a great achievement for me to be able to control the urge to buy those that used to be eyecandies to me. Although right now I can't seem to take away that black Pois from my mind...

One Fine Quiapo Day

Since it was a holiday last Monday, Joy and I decided to spend Monday morning in Quiapo. I woke up early. Next thing I know, I find myself browsing thru huge piles of DVDs and look what I got:

Yep, I got Melrose Place and Beverly Hills 90210. They're two of my favorite TV shows way back in grade school. I remember Friday being my favorite day of the week because aside from it being obviously a Friday, it also means that I could get to watch my favorite TV shows. I've been looking for these DVDs for the longest time and I'm so glad I finally found them! I also saw a boxset of Golden Girls but it can wait. It's next on my shopping list, though. Anyways, I also got seasons 1-6 of Gilmore Girls and I am watching it right now.

Afterwards, we went to Globe Lumpia House in G. Puyat Street (formerly Raon). We just walked so imagine how excruciating it was at 11:30 noontime. Anyways, the place is really small and simple (more like turo-turo). We ordered for take out 20 pieces of their famous lumpia. Each piece costs P17.00. There are photos of celebrities and articles posted inside the small restaurant. I read in one article that it opened in 1957 and took its name from the Globe Cinema where it started out as a kiosk. Movie goers were the first to discover the lumpia (local style spring rolls). Today the restaurant occupies a narrow space on the Gil Puyat St. side of the former cinema.

The moment I stepped inside our house, I ate a piece and another one. haha. It's that delicious! Believe me.

If only we didn't have to be home by 12 noon, we would have stayed longer and visited Quiapo Church. The last time I went to Quiapo Church was about 10 years ago.

I think Quiapo is going to be one of my favorite places to go to (sans the heat and pickpockets.hehe).

Kozui

I came across this post from Lori's blog last Tuesday and told the twins about it. I even went as far as having it printed out and sent to Marikina courtesy of Mr. Cupido. The photos are really enticing that we planned to go to Kozui in Tomas Morato that weekend.

Saturday came. I got SMS at around lunch time from the twins confirming our dinner (excited!). I was late (as usual) but this time it's really due to the heavy traffic in San Juan. Later that night, I found out that it was JV Ejercito's wedding day at Pinaglabanan Church. Oomph.

Upon arriving at the resto, they immediately handed me over the menu. We also found out that it's a self-serving restaurant. There's nothing else on the menu aside from everything stated on dessertcomesfirst. I'm sorry but it was disappointing, honestly.
After finishing our Takoyaki balls and weird flavored tea, we decided to have dinner at Omakase - a resto that we all love just a few blocks away!

We had coffee and tea at Baang Coffee afterwards and there I drooled over a bunch of 'geeks' inside the coffee shop, each one of them carrying a Macbook. Waaaaah!

I'm Back!

I have made quite a few attempts in the past weeks to post here but something always got in the way and so everything was just saved as draft and never published. I think I grew 10 years older already with all that's happened.

Anyways, I'm back. I hope it's for good.

Vacation, at last!

I'm on vacation. A three-week-vacation. And I'm spending it with my family here in Napa. This is my first US trip so imagine the thrill and excitement I am going through right now. It's a bliss and I'm loving it!

My cousins and I had a safe, comfortable, and smooth trip last night. We never got bored during the 13-hour flight as we were treated very well on-board. How I love flying business class! Thanks also to Ms. Gingin we were met and assisted at the airport upon our arrival. It was totally unexpected. On our way out, all my relatives from both sides of the family were there to greet us. We were a picture of one happy family.

Oh. By the way, we saw Eric Morales at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on our way to the boarding gates. We never let the chance pass us by so we had our pictures taken with him:

Everything at Steak

I've been hearing a lot of feedbacks about Everything at Steak and my curiosity was settled after having lunch here. The steaks are good at a very affordable price. I took a picture of their menu so you can see for yourselves. Warning: No picture-taking of food allowed! (But we managed to steal a few shots of what we ordered. hehe):

MYOH 2007

Last Saturday, March 24th, Bex and I met up again for two reasons: 1) To have brunch at the Salcedo Market, and 2) To go to the Make Your Own Havaianas 2007 event at the Power Plant Mall. By lunchtime, we were at the Power Plant Mall and went crazy over choosing our Havaianas combinations. I got two pairs: I gave the second pair to Joy then went back again that afternoon and got two more for myself:I gave the magenta and silver pair to Clarizze as my graduation gift. The next day, Joy, Aj and I went back again to get more pairs for ourselves:

Make Your Own Havaianas 2007

I got an invite from Havaianas Philippines about a week ago for this event and it is open to all. I am definitely going! It just started but I can't go today. Perhaps, tomorrow then. To all Havaianas lovers, see you there!

Way Back Into Love

I've been living with a shadow, overhead
I've been sleeping with a cloud, above my bed
I've been lonely for so long
Trapped in the past, I just can't seem to move on

I've been hiding all my hopes and dreams away
Just in case I ever need `em again someday
I've been setting aside time
To clear a little space in the corners of my mind

All I wanna do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
Ohhhhh

I've been watching but the stars refuse to shine
I've been searching but I just don't see the signs
I know that it's out there
There's gotta be something for my soul somewhere

I've been looking for someone to shed some light
Not somebody just to get me through the night
I could use some direction
And I'm open to your suggestions

All I wanna do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart again
I guess I'm hoping you'll be there for me in the end

There are moments when I don't know if it's real
Or if anybody feels the way I feel
I need inspiration
Not just another negotiation

All I wanna do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart to you
I'm hoping you'll show me what to do
And if you help me to start again
You know that I’ll be there for you in the end

Music & Lyrics is a funny, funny movie. I was laughing almost the whole time watching it. And of course, I love, love the songs!

I'm lusting for...

Bien-etre

I remember being loyal to this cologne way back in college. It's just so sad this is not available here anymore. I'm trying to search online but could not find a reputable online site that sells. A GTalker said she saw a few stocks at Somera in Glorietta but only in the blue variant. Sigh!

Canon Ixus 900 Ti

The first time I saw this 10-mega-pixel titanium cam, I knew I had to have it! It actually screams GET ME, GET ME! And looks like someone's going to answer my prayers... I can't wait!

MacBook/Pro

I know! I've been secretly (not anymore!) obsessing about MacBook for quite sometime now. It used to be a secret because a couple months before MacBook was introduced, I have always wanted a Sony Vaio. And now that I have the Vaio, I want this. But I guess not in the near future unless someone gives me one. Haha.

Crocs

I remember saying about a year ago that Crocs footwears are the most hideous type of footwear I've ever seen and I'll never be caught dead wearing it. Who would have thought I now own two pairs? My first pair is the Mary Jane's style which is a gift from Joy. This one in the photo is my latest pair. I was originally eyeing for the Professional but when I saw Joy wore this model (Offroad), I chose this. So comfy!
