Torture for a Day

Have you ever felt a major pain from wearing a nice shoes to work like it's torture? That's what I experienced the whole day yesterday. I decided to wear my three-inch high pointy stilettos because it has been sleeping in my closet for years and years so I decided to put it on. I never had a problem wearing this kind of shoes before so I guess this is what happens when you become used to wearing flats, sneakers and Havaianas on a daily basis. It was actually tolerable for the most part at work since I was sitting almost the whole time and we have carpeted floors but the minute I stepped out of the building and began crossing the street on my way to Greenbelt, that's when I almost took my shoes off. I swear I would gladly walk barefoot than wear this shoes for a while longer. Good thing the salon is just a few blocks away. I got in to have my brows threaded and forgot about my aching feet. Sigh. If it hadn't, I would have bought a pair of slippers. As soon as I arrived home, I hurried to my room and did this:

Havaianas...again.

I thought I was making a progress... Just when I was able to control myself from buying Havaianas for several months now, I received a mail that limited edition Metallic Logo Havaianas are now out in the market. I went to Rustan's immediately to check and there they were in their divine existence! I had no luck finding my size in the color I wanted (black). The next day, I went to Moana in Power Plant and grabbed the last black pair available in my size! Yipee!Photo courtesy of Flair in the City.

Here's what I got:

Typhoon, flood and a lazy day at home...

On my way home last night, our driver told me that there is a typhoon. I really had no clue. There was a little traffic but it was fine. I'd choose traffic than soaking my feet in dirty waters from the flood. But the inevitable happened. We got home in no time and there was a lot of water in the gate already. Thanks to Bexie for lending me her Havaianas. I promise to keep one pair in the office for emergencies like this.

When I woke up this morning, I looked out the window and there was flood everywhere! There is no way I am going to hurl myself into the floods. Besides, there was nothing that important for me to do in the office so I didn't go to work. I started sending messages to friends and officemates and then I went back to sleep.

I woke up just before lunchtime. Today's my cousin Jaja's birthday so we had the usual pancit, fried chicken, lechon kawali and 3 kinds of cake given by her friends. I did nothing all day but eat, read and stay online. When the rain started pouring again late in the afternoon, I wanted to sleep but I was so tempted to have coffee and so I did and curled up in bed again while reading a book. Yes D, I AM reading. Hahaha.

Books, Guilt, & Havaianas

Current shopping obsession phase: BOOKS.

If there's a particular book I'm interested in, I would normally ask Bexie first if they have it then ask her if I can borrow (which takes me months to finish). This time though, I've spent the last few days glued on eBay searching and bidding online. So far, I bought 8 books already.
  • The Historian
  • The Four Agreements
  • Like Water for Chocolate
  • A Painted House
  • Sophie's World
  • Love Story
  • The End of the Affair
  • Summer Sisters

I decided to start buying books again because seeing my Havaianas collection has become an eyesore to me (for now.hehe). I just couldn't bear the guilt that my Havaianas might outnumber the books on my shelves. I hope I'd be able to find the time and the will to read each one of them soon.

Surprisingly, I've been to different Havaianas stores to see the new arrivals and I didn't buy -not even a single pair! That's a great achievement for me to be able to control the urge to buy those that used to be eyecandies to me. Although right now I can't seem to take away that black Pois from my mind...

MYOH 2007

Last Saturday, March 24th, Bex and I met up again for two reasons: 1) To have brunch at the Salcedo Market, and 2) To go to the Make Your Own Havaianas 2007 event at the Power Plant Mall. By lunchtime, we were at the Power Plant Mall and went crazy over choosing our Havaianas combinations. I got two pairs: I gave the second pair to Joy then went back again that afternoon and got two more for myself:I gave the magenta and silver pair to Clarizze as my graduation gift. The next day, Joy, Aj and I went back again to get more pairs for ourselves:

Make Your Own Havaianas 2007

I got an invite from Havaianas Philippines about a week ago for this event and it is open to all. I am definitely going! It just started but I can't go today. Perhaps, tomorrow then. To all Havaianas lovers, see you there!
